As a student volunteer (SV), you are the face of the conference. You will assist chairs, speakers, and attendees. You will play a key role in making the conference a success.

Become an SV

SVs are essential to the success of the conference. Being an SV  provides great opportunities to attend and network! In return for help at the conference, SVs receive a number of benefits. We are now seeking motivated SVs for the 2020 SIOPSA conference. The deadline for all SV applications is August 31, 2020.

Volunteers must be  IOP undergraduate,  Honours, Master’s students or IOP interns during the 2020 academic year.

What will I do when I volunteer?

  • Attend an orientation session (date tbc)

  • Volunteer to work at the conference (including the day before conference) from 1-3 December

  • Technical assistance to speakers and conference participants.

  • Other activities that keep the conference running smoothly. For example:

    • Helping at the registration desk

    • Helping attendees find session rooms

    • Verifying those in sessions are registered

What do I get in return as a SV?

  • Free conference registration, including the meals provided by the conference registrations

  • A chance to meet and network with established members in the community as well as your student peers.

Please note that Siopsa does not cover traveling or accommodation costs for Student Volunteers. However, we would like to give all students equal opportunities to volunteer, so please let us know if you need accommodation or travel assistance so we can reach out to the Siopsa community.
